What Is the Strawberry Super Moon? ๐
The Strawberry Moon, named by the Algonquin and other Native American tribes, marks the ripening of strawberries and the onset of summer's abundance. Despite its name, the moon won't appear red or pink; instead, it will shine with a golden hue, especially when rising or setting .
In 2025, this full moon is also a super moon, meaning it's closer to Earth and appears larger and brighter in the sky. It's the lowest full moon of the year, making it a spectacular sight on the horizon .
African Spirituality and the Moon ๐
In various African traditions, the moon is revered as a symbol of femininity, fertility, and cyclical renewal. It's a time for community gatherings, storytelling, and rituals that honor ancestral connections and natural rhythms.
Themes of the Strawberry Moon ๐ช
Abundance: Celebrating the fruits of labor and the blessings of life.
Gratitude: Reflecting on personal growth and expressing thanks.
Love: Deepening connections with oneself and others.
Manifestation: Setting intentions for the future and embracing possibilities.
Rituals to Honour the Strawberry Super Moon ๐ฎ
Engaging in rituals during the full moon can amplify intentions and foster spiritual growth. Here are some practices to consider:
1. Moonlight Bathing ๐ซง
Spend time under the moonlight to cleanse your energy and connect with lunar vibrations. This practice is common in various cultures for spiritual purification.
2. Gratitude Journaling ๐
Write down things you're thankful for, focusing on personal achievements and growth. This aligns with the moon's theme of abundance.
3. Ancestral Offerings ๐
Prepare a small altar with offerings like fruits, flowers, or incense to honour your ancestors, a practice rooted in African spiritual traditions. We encourage incorporating the five elements : Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Ether.ย
4. Intention Setting ๐
Meditate and set clear intentions for what you wish to manifest in the coming lunar cycle. Visualise your goals and speak them into existence.

These are beautiful teachings, for a while I was unclear on what was the importance of this particular moon, but the information provided was clear and to the point
Why did I think it was tonight, I will definitely look out tonight and bathe in the moonlight
Thokoza gogo ๐๐
It was so big and beautiful it lit up the entire street, I could see at night.
Thokoza Mkhulu.
I hope I find you well.
This is a very interesting post. I actually realise that I used to do a lot of moon baths unconsciously without knowing the significance of the act. All I knew was that I would have wonderful dreams that night even though I didnโt understand what they meant๐. I feel this is like a response to a dream I had a couple of days ago which brought the conversation with my mentor about how to elevate spiritually and how we should learn to be gentle with ourselves, learn to forgive ourselves first and foremost and stop judging ourselves consciously and unconsciously. I believe this is the best time to fully pay attention to the injustice we do to ourselves, heal and show gratitude to ourselves, our ancestors and all the beings that play a role in our positive growth. Thank you for this articleโฆI think I need to bookmark it for consistent use later.
